YGAB Supports Bay Area Food Bank

During the month of November the Youth Grant Allocation Board (YGAB) collected over 119 pounds of canned and dry food to help feed the hungry on Thanksgiving. The food was presented to Mrs. Darlene Goodman of the Bay Area Food Bank, who expressed heartfelt gratitude for the donation and the commitment to community displayed by YGAB members. Despite a slow economy, the Bay Area Food Bank received an estimated 70,000 pounds of food this Thanksgiving. Each pound of donated food will feed one person one meal.

The Youth Grant Allocation Board (YGAB) of The Community Foundation of South Alabama is a group of sophomores, juniors, and seniors nominated by public and private high schools in Mobile and Baldwin Counties who are given the opportunity to learn about community needs and grant making.
