J. L. Bedsole Scholar Interns At CFSA

This summer, the staff of CFSA had the pleasure of working with Joseph Rooks, a J. L. Bedsole Scholar. Joseph is a sophomore at Spring Hill College majoring in Management Accounting.

Joseph worked primarily in the area of Community Economic Development gathering information about financial literacy. “I was introduced to a new way of life that few people ever mention when describing possible career paths. It taught me how people struggle in the community and how important it was to get involved and be of service to those less fortunate,” remarked Joseph.

The J. L. Bedsole Scholars Program was created expressly to meet the needs of above average students with leadership potential who demonstrate financial need. Recipients of the Scholarship express a desire to use their abilities to further the civic, cultural and economic development of southwest Alabama.
