Seeks Requests for Proposals
for Field of Interest Grants by November 2, 2009

 

October 15, 2009 - Mobile, Alabama - The Community Foundation of South Alabama has announced the availability of Field of Interest grants which target specific programs. Applications for Field of Interest grants are due by November 2, 2009.

Grant applications for the Clyde C. Snyder Fund will be accepted until January 11, 2010.

Nonprofit organizations located within Baldwin, Clarke, Choctaw, Conecuh, Escambia, Mobile, Monroe and Washington counties in Alabama are invited to submit a grant proposal. Details about the requirements for submitting a proposal and the review process can be found online at www.communityendowment.com.

Field of Interest Funds

Alcoholics Recovery Fund was established to 1.) further the public’s awareness of the disease of alcoholism, its dangers and effective solutions; 2.) support organizations providing alcoholic treatment and rehabilitation; or 3.) provide funds to those with no financial resources for treatment, rehabilitation, and training. 

Awarded: $850 in 2008

Deadline: November 2, 2009

Josephine Dorgan Carney Fund was established to further the protection of women and children’s property and other rights. 

Amount: Awarded $2,110 in 2008

Deadline: November 2, 2009

Chandler Capital Campaign Fund provides capital support for new buildings to those organizations serving a community need.

Amount: Awarded $4,000 in 2008

Deadline: November 2, 2009

Bertha Marie Dorgan Fund provides support for programs addressing zero population control. 

Amount: Approximately $1,700

Deadline: November 2, 2009

John A. and Mary A. Dorgan Fund supports programs promoting planned parenting.

Amount: Approximately $3,200

Deadline: November 2, 2009

Irene Kay Fund supports programs that aid and assist in research and prevention of lung cancer. 

Amount: Approximately $700

Deadline: November 2, 2009

Lester Kay Fund supports programs that further the research and prevention of Alzheimer’s disease.
Amount: Approximately $645

Deadline: November 2, 2009

Dillon & Virginia S. March Endowment supports programs that help disadvantaged females who need assistance maintaining a safe, healthful and comfortable life. 

Amount: Approximately $300

Deadline: November 2, 2009

Medical Interest Fund supports programs addressing medical interest needs in south Alabama.  Amount: Awarded $9,900 in 2008

Deadline: November 2, 2009

Clyde C. Snyder Fund supports organizations which directly or indirectly promote public interest in art and classical music.

Amount: Awarded $30,600 in 2008

Deadline: January 11, 2010
