The Community Foundation of South Alabama is a nonprofit foundation that plays a key role in meeting the needs of South Alabama through leadership and grants.

More than $60 million in grants have been awarded since 1976 by The Foundation to nonprofit organizations to support programs that make life better in our community.

The Community Foundation administers a collection of charitable funds established by members of our community.

Charitable gifts are pooled together and invested and the earnings are used for grants and scholarships.

We work with our donors to strengthen South Alabama by building permanent endowments to ensure grants are available to support the community forever.

Funding awarded by The Community Foundation includes grants that are available through a competitive grant-making process and grants that originate through the request of a donor.

The Community Foundation promotes community philanthropy in Baldwin, Choctaw, Clarke, Conecuh, Escambia, Mobile, Monroe and Washington counties of South Alabama.
